Get started with Greentic Designer

Open the correct workspace, understand the Designer dashboard, create a flow or agentic worker and learn the main controls used to build, navigate and save a solution.

Designer works within the selected workspaceProjects, knowledge, configured models, credits and deployment resources belong to the active workspace. Confirm the workspace before creating or changing a customer solution.

Before you begin

  • Confirm that you can access the correct Designer workspace.
  • Confirm that you have the role required to create the intended project type.
  • Make sure a model provider is available before relying on AI-assisted generation.
  • Prepare a concise description of the business requirement.
  • Decide whether the requirement is best represented as a deterministic flow or an agentic worker.
  • Use fictional or test data while building the first version.
Start with one clear business outcomeA narrowly defined first process is easier to generate, inspect and test than a broad request to automate an entire department.

1. Choose the correct workspace

Designer always acts within one workspace. Confirm which one is active before you begin.

Use the account menu to confirm or change the workspace you are acting within.
  • The account menu shows the signed-in user.
  • Act as tenant or the equivalent workspace selector identifies the active customer workspace.
  • Settings and Profile are personal or workspace support areas, not project design controls.
  • Changing the active workspace changes the projects and resources available in Designer.

  3. 3Change it when you are working for another customer or tenant.
  4. 4Confirm that the workspace branding and project list are correct.
  5. 5Return to Home before creating a new project.
Check before making changesA project created in the wrong workspace may use the wrong models, tools, knowledge, branding or deployment resources.

2. Understand Designer Home

Home is the starting point for every project in the workspace.

Designer Home shows the workspace's projects, setup progress and recent activity.
Workspace summary
The top cards summarise the number of projects, live projects, runs today and success information when runs exist. Treat the values shown as examples only.
Pick up where you left off
The continuation banner opens the most recently edited project.
Project cards
Each card shows the project name, project type, draft or live state, recent run information and the last-edited time.
Filters and search
Show all projects, limit the view to flows or agentic workers, search by project name and change project ordering.
Get set up
The setup checklist highlights workspace prerequisites such as connecting a model provider, creating a first worker, deploying it and observing a run.
Recent activity
Shows the projects that were changed most recently.
Use clear project namesName projects after their business purpose, not after temporary experiments. For example, use “Late Delivery Resolution” rather than “Test Flow 3”.

3. Create a new project

The New Project dialog asks for a name and the kind of solution you want to build.

Choose Flow for a controlled visual process made from explicit steps.
Choose Agentic Worker for a specialised AI worker that interprets requests and uses approved capabilities.

  7. 7Review the generated configuration or canvas before testing it.
Flow or Agentic Worker?Use a flow when sequence and outcomes must be explicitly controlled. Use an agentic worker when natural-language understanding or flexible capability selection is required.

4. Start from a template

Templates give you a reviewed starting point instead of an empty canvas.

Templates provide reusable starting points that can be searched and filtered.
  • Open Templates from the left navigation.
  • Search by template name or description.
  • Use filters and ordering controls to narrow the results.
  • Open a template to review what it provides before using it.
  • Use a template as a starting point and then adapt it to the customer requirement.
  • Where the interface allows it, a completed canvas can be published as a reusable template.
Treat templates as starting pointsReview generated steps, instructions, tools and assumptions before using a template in a customer solution.

6. Understand the Editor workspace

The Editor is where a solution is designed, inspected and tested.

The Editor combines AI-assisted design, a visual canvas and an interactive Run Demo panel.
AI design conversation
The left panel is used to describe what should be created or changed. It also records the design conversation.
Visual canvas
The centre shows the generated process and its connections. Select a step to inspect and configure it.
Project controls
The top bar includes controls such as Save, Variables, Run Demo, Deploy and additional project actions.
Run Demo
The right panel displays the interactive test experience for the current project.
Canvas navigation
Large projects may extend beyond the visible area. Use Fit view, zoom controls, the minimap and canvas navigation.
Generated is not the same as finishedReview the generated canvas, inspect important steps and test all significant routes before publishing or deployment.
Make one purposeful change at a timeSmall, explicit follow-up prompts are easier to verify than asking Designer to restructure many unrelated parts of a solution at once.

7. Save, version, import and export

The project menu holds the actions that protect and move your work.

The project menu provides versioning, layout, import and export actions.
Version history
Review versions available for the project.
Save as version
Record the current state as a project version.
Auto-layout
Rearrange the visual canvas automatically.
Import flow
Bring a supported flow into the current project workflow.
Export flow
Export the flow using the supported local format.
Export to GitHub
Send supported project content to a connected GitHub destination.
The menu shows the available action names, but the exact import format, export format and GitHub workflow depend on the current Designer configuration.

  3. 3Run the project or worker using the available test control.
  4. 4Correct any obvious configuration issue.
  5. 5Open the project actions menu.
  6. 6Select Save as version.
  7. 7Give the version a meaningful description where the interface requests one.
  8. 8Continue editing in the draft after the version has been recorded.
Save a version before major changesCreate a meaningful version before restructuring a large canvas, replacing a model or changing important worker instructions.

8. First-project checklist

Work through this list before moving on to a build guide.

  • Confirm the correct workspace.
  • Confirm that the required model provider is available.
  • Choose Flow or Agentic Worker.
  • Give the project a clear business name.
  • Describe one specific outcome.
  • Inspect what Designer creates.
  • Check important inputs, decisions and outputs.
  • Run a representative test.
  • Save the draft.
  • Save a meaningful version.
